NCPG Education Committee reviews and approves applications for problem gambling-specific Continuing Education Units (CEU). The purpose of NCPG CEUs is so educational providers and attendees have confidence that an approved conference/training has:
There is a very fine line between problem gambling or Illinois gambling addiction and gambling too much. The critical sign of problem gambling is often hidden from awareness, with denial. Gamblers Anonymous is a twelve-step support program for problem gamblers. GamAnon is a support program for friends and families of the problem gamblers. Gambling is an activity where people take part in a game by placing something of monetary value at risk in order to win money or a prize. There are many different forms of gambling - from scratch cards, lotteries and bingo, to betting on sports or events or playing casino games and arcade machines.
Individuals who seek gambling-specific CEUs should contact the Board and/or Certifying body to ensure they accept NCPG CEUs.
